Comments:
The cylindrical LIP-26650-FT Lithium-Iron Phosphate cell is among the most popular
size of lithium-ion cells ('26' denotes the diameter and '650' the length in
millimetres and tenth's of a millimetre respectively).
Lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries are based on the original lithium-ion chemistry, but LiFePO4 is used as the cathode material instead of lithium cobalt dioxide (LiCoO2).
LiFePO4 batteries are intrinsically safer than conventional Lithium-ion ones. The LiFePO4 cells do not incinerate or explode under extreme conditions since exothermic reactions can not occur in this material:. These lithium-iron-phosphate cells not only have high capacity, LiFePO4 cells also have a higher discharge current than Li-ion, are not toxic and have a much higher cycle life than Li-ion. We specify 1000 charge/discharge cycles, but laboratory test achieve up to 2000 cycles!
The nominal voltage of these cells is lower than conventional Li-ion cells. Instead of producing 3.7 volts, these Lithium Iron Phosphate cells deliver 3.2 volts. The required charging is constant current/constant voltage (a\s with Li-ion) but at a charge voltage of 3.7V (instead of 4.2V)
Our LIP-26650-FT cells are ideal for battery pack builders, power tools, electric vehicles, remote controlled (RC) car battery packs etc. They are established power source for the new DeWalt Lithium cordless power tools.
This LIP-26650-FT requires the use of protection circuitry to keep the battery from over-charging, over-discharging, or over-heating. You will require knowledge of how to safely charge Li-ion cells. Failure to treat the cell correctly may cause it to become hot, explode or ignite. We cannot be held responsible for damage or injury caused by misuse of Li-Iron-Phosphate batteries.
