Mercury Replacement Battery Catalogue
Many devices were designed to use Mercuric Oxide batteries but, because of concerns about toxicity and environmental pollution, these cells are no longer manufactured. The tables below will help you find Mercury free equivalents. Silver Oxide, Alkaline and Zinc-Air replacements are available. All produce slightly different voltages than the original mercury cell.

Mercury Replacement Buttons
1.55V Silver Oxide Replacements
Mercuric Oxide buttons were commonplace in watches and medical equipment but, because of concerns about toxicity and environmental pollution, these cells are no longer manufactured. The table below will help you find Silver Oxide equivalents. Silver Oxide cells produce 1.55V which is a little higher than the 1.35V produced by the original mercury cell.
