The cylindrical LIR-18650 or 18650 Lithium-Ion cell is among the most popular size of lithium-ion cells ('18' denotes the diameter and '650' the length in millimetres and tenth's of a millimetre respectively). It has become the workhorse for the laptop computer industry. The resultant large production runs has resulted in low unit prices, high capacity and high quality cells. Consequently the standard size is now being adopted as the power source of choice for other portable electronic devices such as cellular phones, digital cameras, power tools and many other applications. 

Our LIR-18650 cells are ideal for battery pack builders, computer laptop repairs, 7.4 volt remote controlled (RC) car battery packs etc.

Do not solder on to these LIR18650 cells. These cells are inflammable and heat can undermine the integrity of the seals. These bare cells are for spot welding. If you need to solder these cells you should use the LIR18650-FT cells with factory added solder tags that are available here...........

This LIR-18650 requires the use of protection circuitry to keep the battery from over-charging, over-discharging, or over-heating. You will require knowledge of how to safely charge Li-ion cells. Failure to treat the cell correctly may cause it to become hot, explode or ignite. We cannot be held responsible for damage or injury caused by misuse of Li-Ion batteries.

The lithium-ion technology used in these cylindrical LIR-18650 cell is light-weight and high voltage. It results in significantly higher energy density than NiCd and NiMH batteries.
